“Mistakes I made and what they taught me”

It wasn’t just a mistake; it became something I almost regret. Even now, it’s something I’ve never told anyone. The very first mistake I made was running away from my problems. If I hadn’t walked away from that one situation, my life might have turned out completely differently. That story - one I never expected might never have happened at all.Sometimes I wonder what life would have been like if I had faced it instead of avoiding it. But perhaps it was fate. Perhaps some things are meant to happen, no matter how much we wish they hadn’t.

Sometimes the mistake isn’t making the wrong move—it’s not making a move at all.Whether the outcome is good or bad, take the chance. If you fail, that’s okay. Failure teaches lessons that hesitation never will. What’s harder to live with is the constant thought of “What if?” that lingers when you never try. It’s better to fail after trying than to spend years wondering what could have happened if you had simply taken the first step.

One of the biggest mistakes I made was being too understanding.I understood every excuse, every situation, and every reason someone gave me, even when it left me hurting. I became so busy seeing things from other people’s perspectives that I forgot to acknowledge my own pain. The truth is, some people will expect endless understanding from you while giving none in return. They’ll want you to be patient with their struggles but won’t pause to consider how their actions affect you.

Being understanding isn’t a weakness. Ignoring your own feelings is.

I’ve learned that empathy should never come at the cost of self-respect.
